Home/Blog / Can I Get Invisalign® When I Have Porcelain Veneers?

Cosmetic dental concerns such as misalignment, discoloration, and chips or gaps affecting the teeth are common among many individuals and ultimately prompt them to pursue corrective oral care. Two popular treatments that can address aesthetic issues are Invisalign® and porcelain veneers. While both options can help enhance and revitalize an individual’s smile, there are some important differences between them:

Some individuals who have already received porcelain veneers wonder if they are eligible or able to pursue Invisalign® treatment to potentially correct orthodontic concerns.

The answer: yes, it is possible to undergo Invisalign® treatment if you have porcelain veneers.

However, if you have yet to pursue either treatment, it may be recommended that you first complete the Invisalign® process before receiving porcelain veneers. It can often be a better approach to first shift teeth into a straighter position with Invisalign® and then address other cosmetic issues that remain with veneers. With that in mind, if the process is instead performed in the opposite order, patients can still see improvements in their smile thanks to the benefits of both treatments.
